![]() ![]() This is some bad Internet Fan Fiction-level stuff, right here. Predator: "There are no redeeming qualities. I wish it would have, though."Īlien: Resurrection: "She really sunk that basketball, so that was cool."Īlien vs. It had a gusty ending, though and was kind of cool to see it end that way. It's a good showcase for Blu-Ray, but that's about it."Īlien 3: "A very bleak and pointless sequel. ![]() For the entire unarmed human settlement lies smack between two varieties of monster, one spider-like, one human-like, but infinitely stronger. Little did she know that she would defend it with her life. Prometheus: "Terrible characters and writing, but the cinematography is gorgeous. Prey: Machiko Noguchi accepted the supervision of the ranching colony of Ryuski as a challenge. Predator 2: "Eh, it was an improvement over the first AvP, even if that's not saying much." It's worth it for the geek factor."Īlien Vs. Predator 2: "The ending is kinda cool it created a ton of fan speculation, which gave birth to the Aliens vs, Predator cross-over comic series. It’s a fun, rewarding experience akin to Alien and Aliens. ![]() I also had a hard time buying Adrien Brody or Topher Grace as "bad asses", but Laurence Fishburn was amazing in it, and there are some other pretty cool moments, as well. When rewatching Predator or Prey, one can sit back and marvel at the well-executed genre filmmaking. Predators: "The Predator fight scenes were incredibly sloppy, and it was obvious that the actors had a hard time moving around in those suits, too. So, it might seem a little cheesy by modern standards." Predator and Aliens are both terrific movies, so I don't have complaints about those, but as the list goes on, I'm giving them less and less redeeming qualities:Īlien: "A classic movie, and I personally like it, but I can objectively admit that it hasn't aged as well as other movies in the series. 2 out of 5, and that is being generous.Predator, Aliens, Alien, Predators, Predator 2, AvP2, Prometheus, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection, AvP. It could've been a decent ride of mindless entertainment if the writers put in a bit more effort into the actual story, which is something ironic consider the genre we are talking about. But none of the this is explored, as the story just randomly ends, not giving us anything to bite into. Perhaps between those who want to follow the old way of Hunting trophies, and the new radicalistic faction that want to launch large scale invasion of inferior species like the humans. The title, and the story, hints at some manner of civil war amongst the predators. Who wants to see a bunch of mooks, dying at the drop of the hat. I mean, part of the charm of these series is the Predators going up against hapless prey, and outsmarting or out maneuvering them in inventive ways. There is plenty of gore and action, but the narrative suffers due to a lack of care put into each confrontation. Predator: Prey novel where the females dominate over the males and see the hunting is beneath them by having a female involved in this hunt. And, again, I don't go into these stories expecting anything more, just mindless gory action.įor the most part, Prey to the heavens satisfies some of those needs. It’s interesting that Steve Perry has changed the lore he set down in his Aliens vs. Aliens/Predator, where two of the world's greatest superheroes face up against the world's most lethal hunter/prey. A few of my favorite have been Batman vs. Im leaving this one up for nostalgia thoughThis is the story that many people say is the o. Over the years I've read quite a few adaptations, featuring the Predators, in conjunction with the Xenomorphs. A new version, with better audio, is now available. Even if all, almost all iterations after Arnie's outing have been sub par to various degrees, you are still willing to give it a chance, in the hopes that it might capture the feeling of the original. I mean, I still don't get why people flock to Micheal Bay's trash movies, but seeing how well they do at the box-office, clearly there is an audience dedicated to such movies.įor me, the Predator series has been the junk content which I go back to, again and again. Every one has the junk that they like to consume, while turning their minds off. Mating seemed to occur as humans would mate, the females had milk glands to suckle the young, it is of note that. The word Lou-dte kalei translates as Child Maker but is never spoken to a female yautja as it is not polite to do so. Some just needs to cater to that part of the reader that just wants to satiate their need for overwhelming violence and a power fantasy. Predator: Prey Female predators are not hunters but are equal in Yautja society and mentality. not every comic needs to be The Dark Knight Returns, or the Watchmen. Not all comic-books need to contain complex themes, well developed characters, and representative of the politics of the era. ![]()
